Meet Jessica

A life of listening to the body, spirit, and the possibility of change

I’m Jessica Lichaa, the creator of Mapping Awakening and Fascia Awakening. My work is rooted in a question that has shaped my own life: What becomes possible when we stop identifying with every thought and learn to inhabit ourselves more fully?

From yoga to a deeper awakening

I opened my yoga studio in November 2012, following a calling to help people discover presence through movement. In 2014, a powerful experience I understand as a Kundalini awakening changed the direction of my life. What followed included a challenging dark night of the soul, a period in which I had to find a grounded way through profound inner change.

Attentive work with fascia became an important part of that path. As I explored the relationships between contact, movement, sensation, and awareness, Fascia Awakening began to take shape—not simply as a movement method, but as a framework for embodiment, presence, and transformation.

What caregiving taught me

For roughly seven years, I was also a caregiver for a family member living with Alzheimer’s disease. That intimate experience deepened my curiosity about the nervous system, the body’s connective tissues, and brain health. More importantly, it taught me about patience, attunement, dignity, and the profound importance of a felt sense of safety.

Spiritual study and multidimensional work

My exploration of ancestral patterns, contemplative practice, and the multidimensional nature of human experience has continued alongside my somatic work. I completed more than 200 hours of Spirit Magic training and have since graduated from an advanced apprenticeship program. I bring those experiences into my work as a facilitator of spiritual healing in collaboration with my Spirit Team.

Today, I weave together Fascia Awakening, meditation, dharma-inspired inquiry, and intuitive spiritual work. I hold these as distinct yet complementary pathways, while honoring each person’s beliefs, boundaries, and lived experience.

Why I teach

My hope is to help more people discover that they are not their thoughts, their histories, or the patterns they have learned to carry. Greater embodiment can open space for clarity, aliveness, freedom, and sovereignty. As we heal and see ourselves more clearly, we may also bring compassion, a healing presence, and more skillful action into the world.

For me, this is the heart of conscious human evolution: the way we become, together.
